District Info
The McCall Fire Protection District serves 100 square miles of northern Valley County including the City of McCall. McCall is home to roughly 3,600 year-round residents, but due to the popularity of the area,, its year-round outdoor recreation and proximity to Boise, the population has been known to soar to 30,000+ during our popular Winter Carnival and often quadruples during other peak tourist seasons and holidays .
McCall Fire is a combination department consisting of both career and paid-on-call volunteer members. We staff our station to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We respond to approximately over 800 calls annually within our community and offer mutual aid to neighboring counties. We provide multiple levels of response from structure and wildland fires, hazardous materials, swiftwater, lake rescue, motor vehicle accidents, emergency medical incidents, lost and injured hikers, boaters, skiers and much more.
In addition to emergency response, we provide numerous public education and community services including CPR and First Aid training, child car seat inspections, blood pressure checks, fire prevention and code enforcement, community event standby, station tours, free smoke detectors, public school, and daycare education programs.
Our personnel train daily to provide the highest level of service and care for our citizens and visitors. We aspire to provide a caring service that exceeds expectations and are proud to provide a level of comprehensive services that’s not often found in communities our size. All of this is accomplished with hard working dedicated staff and volunteers that go above and beyond.
We are deeply honored to serve the community that we live in and we are constantly in awe of the thanks we receive. It is only with the support of this community that we can provide the level of service that we do.
