Short-Term Rental Fire and Life Safety Information

Effective July 1, 2026, Idaho House Bill 583 eliminated local requirements for short-term rental permits and inspections. As a result, the McCall Fire Protection District no longer conducts mandatory fire and life safety inspections for short-term rental properties.

Although inspections are no longer required, providing a safe environment for your guests remains an important responsibility. The McCall Fire Protection District continues to offer voluntary Fire and Life Safety Inspections to help property owners identify potential hazards and improve guest safety.

We appreciate the partnership we have built with the short-term rental community over the years and thank you for your continued commitment to guest safety. If you have questions about fire and life safety or would like to schedule a voluntary inspection, please contact the McCall Fire Protection District.
